On Bonaire you have to be able to show a valid ID when requested to do so by the authorities. Your passport has to be valid for another 6 months after arrival in the country of issue.

Bonaire has a very even climate. Temperatures are nearly the same all year round: it is approximately 30 degrees during the day and during the night the temperate drops to approximately 25 degrees. Refreshing trade winds fan the island most of the year resulting in pleasant temperatures. It rarely rains on Bonaire, but if it does, the island knows tropical showers: Short and intense, but after, the sun almost always takes over. Bonaire’s monsoon season runs from half November to half January.

The tap water on Bonaire is perfectly drinkable. The water is of high quality and the taste is outstanding.

On Grand Windsock Bonaire you can make use of 220V power outlets. European plugs fit the sockets. American converters are available for rent at the reception.

Bonaire lies within the Atlantic Time Zone: GMT -4. Bonaire does not make a difference between summer or winter time. The time difference with The Netherlands is 6 hours in summer and 5 hours in winter.

Special vaccinations are not required on Bonaire. However, you should consider your personal medication. When you are using medication, bring enough and ask your pharmacy for an overview of your medications. Protect yourself well against mosquitoes. Wear protective clothing and use an anti-mosquito repellent with DEET.

On Bonaire you pay with the US Dollar ($). You can pay with your debit card and there are ATM’s available all over the island. Bringing dollars from The Netherlands is not required, you can withdraw cash upon arrival at the airport.

Information with regards to your stay

In case you do not want to arrive by rental car, we will arrange your transfer from and to the airport upon your request. Our driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall and take you directly to Grand Windsock Bonaire. If you would like to make use of this service, please contact us. The cost is $ 15 per person.

Check in at Grand Windsock Bonaire is possible as of 16:00 o’clock. We kindly request you to check out of the resort before 11:00 o’clock.

Unfortunately, you cannot take out travel and/or cancellation insurance through us. We recommend that you take one yourself. You can find our terms and conditions here.

Booking

You can easily book your accommodation via the website. It is also possible to make a booking by phone or email. If you have special wishes, preferences or an option booking, please contact us.

If you unexpectedly cancel your holiday, we always ask you to contact us by telephone. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance yourself, so that you are protected against the financial setbacks of the cancellation. It is possible to cancel free of charge up to 7 days prior to your arrival.

For minor changes you can access your account with your own personal login details which you received by email when making the booking. For other changes, please contact us.

When you log in with your personal login name and password, you can change your personal details. After you have completed your booking, you will receive the login details by email. In the unlikely event that you cannot access your account, we ask you to contact us. We are happy to help you.

When you book with us, your booking will be recorded directly online, so that you are always assured of your stay. You will receive a booking confirmation in your mailbox for confirmation immediately after booking. You will also find login details in this email. This allows you to log into our website. We kindly ask you to pay the deposit immediately after making the booking or in the case of a last-minute booking (35 days or less before arrival) the full amount. You can do this by logging in and then making the payment via the payment options such as iDeal or credit card. In the unlikely event that you have not received an email with login details, we ask you to take a look in your SPAM box. If the confirmation is not there, we ask you to contact us. After paying the deposit, the booking is officially confirmed.

Discounts are always directly discounted in the prices. For special offers, we recommend that you look at the offers or subscribe to the newsletter.

Payment

After making your booking you will receive an email with login details. This allows you to log in to our website (top right at ‘login’). By logging in you will enter your personal page where you can view your reservation and further complete or change your details. You can also pay the deposit here via iDeal or credit card.

If you have received a payment reminder from us, or if you want to pay the remaining amount, we ask you to log in again with this information on our website. These were sent together with your booking confirmation. You can then pay in your personal environment via iDeal or credit card.

If you are unable to pay via the website, you can also make a bank transfer. You will find our bank details at contact. Please include your booking number in the description of the transfer for reference.

You can find the status of your payment in your account. You can view your account by pressing the “login” button on our website. With your username and password you can find all information here. Moreover, you can easily make your payments in your account.

When booking, the booker will receive an email confirmation with an online payment link. For a booking made more than 84 days prior to arrival, a deposit of at least 30% of the rental amount of the booked accommodation, services, activities and/or facilities must be paid immediately upon receipt of the confirmation/invoice. Reservation and insurance costs must be paid in full (100%) immediately.

The remainder must be paid no later than 35 days before arrival. If the booking is made within 35 days before the arrival, the invoice amount must be paid 100% immediately after receipt of the confirmation/invoice.

After payment of the full invoice amount, the travel documents with access vouchers will be sent by email.

You can make the payment by using your personal login data that you received by email with your confirmation. When you log in, you can make the payment by iDeal or credit card. Once the deposit has been paid, the booking will be officially confirmed and you will receive an invoice.

You will receive an invoice online immediately after booking. The deposit is to be paid immediately; the remainder must be received by us 35 days before your arrival at our holiday resort.
